Last Two Races in NASCAR’s Regular Season are Crucial for Chastain
Trackhouse and Moose Fraternity driver Ross Chastain is looking to pad his point total in the last two races of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season as he sits in the final playoff berth, just one point ahead of Bubba Wallace. Chastain earned ten points during last Sunday’s rain-delayed Michigan race by finishing tenth in stage one and second in stage two, before a spin during the final laps dropped him to 25th at the end.
“I saw the 48 get into the wall and then all of the sudden I was spinning so I'm not really sure what happened. It's a disappointing finish for such a strong day at Michigan in our Busch Light Peach Chevy. I'm looking forward to Daytona."
The Florida native makes his 13th Cup Series start at the 2.5-mile Daytona Superspeedway this Saturday. In last year's summer race, he led 19 laps before finishing 17th. In this year's Daytona 500, Chastain ran second coming to the white flag when he shot a gap between William Byron and Austin Cindric to take the lead, but Chastain and Cindric touched sending Chastain spinning through the grass and out of contention.
Moose members can watch the Coke Zero Sugar 400 this Saturday, August 24th at 7:30pm ET on NBC.
